Counselling and Psychotherapy

Struggling with our feelings or with patterns of thinking and behaviour is an inevitable part of life. It is part of the human condition. It may be difficult to avoid painful feelings and experiences, but we can choose how we deal with them. Therapy can help in trying to understand how we respond to our own lived lives. It can also help whether we feel a little stuck or utterly overwhelmed and unable to make sense of our experiences. Seeking help can be a brave and wise step.

I am an experienced and accredited psychotherapist working in Finchley N3, Mill Hill NW7 and Holborn WC1. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. I provide long-term and short-term therapy with the aim of enabling you to understand your life and live it more fully

A one-hour initial consultation allows us both to assess if therapy is right for you and how best we might work together. Whatever you choose to bring to therapy will be respected and explored sensitively at your pace. My counselling is confidential, and non-judgemental. Our initial meeting carries no obligation as to future sessions.

I am experienced in helping clients who have had difficulties with :

- Stress
- Relationships
- Panic Attacks
- Anxiety
- Bereavement
- Redundancy
- Depression
- Addiction
- Trauma
- Difficult childhood experiences
- Self defeating cycles: such as self harm, self sabotage, low self esteem
- Low confidence
- Social anxiety
- Life changes

It may be that you are not able to name your difficulty yet but experience feelings such as anger, guilt and confusion. It may be a general feeling of being empty or stuck. Taking the step into seeking therapy can feel like a daunting experience and choosing the therapist for you will be an important consideration at this stage. A therapist needs to be deeply committed to understanding and helping their clients. They need to bring warmth and resilience to their work along with care and respect. I am dedicated to working in this way and I believe that through a genuine connection / relationship between the therapist and client, the therapist's skills and techniques can truly be of help to the client. Through the client-therapist relationship you can:

- Express your thoughts and feelings.
- Reflect upon your experiences and increase your awareness about what is troubling you.
- Consider the choices and options available to you.
- Develop coping strategies and responses to present dilemmas and difficulties.
